Chandigarh, Delhi, and other parts of Northern India experienced earthquake tremors around 1:30 p.m. People felt the impact and rushed out of their homes for safety. It’s measuring 5.4 in magnitude, was reported near the village of Gandoh Bhalessa in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. t is advised to stay updated with official announcements and follow safety guidelines during such incidents.
According to Dr. OP Mishra, Director of the National Center for Seismology, a 5.4 magnitude earthquake was detected in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir today. The tremors might have been felt in Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Punjab, and neighboring regions. Dr. Mishra also mentioned the possibility of the aftershock being of a lower magnitude than the initial quake.

Strong earthquake tremors were felt in various Indian states earlier in March. The earthquake had a Richter scale magnitude of 6.6. Its affected the whole region of North India, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The Afghan Hindu Kush region served as the earthquake’s epicenter.
